me I DO IT MOMMA! I said you want to feed Matthew his

I have to say I have been looking for to the day when my boys could take a bath together. I mean it's obviously easier throwing them in the tub together but I think there is nothing more precious than seeing them in the tub squealing and giggling at each other. Ryan even insisted on bathing Matthew saying I DO IT MOMMA.

Sweet Home Mississippi

There is a reason Mississippi is the Fattest State, the food is just so darn good. With restaurants with names like Fat Baby's and The Country Platter you know you are in trouble. And ya'll the Mexican food is soooo much better than it is in Texas. Texas should really be ashamed that Mississippi has better Mexican food. I remember the first time Chad came home with me he could'nt believe how good the Mexican food was either. Who knew that Mississippi Mexicans cook better than Texas Mexicans. There is this local hamburger joint in my home town called Frostop. It has always been a favorite of mine. The place has been there forever. My grandmother even worked there when my momma was little. So obviously this place is special :) When you get your food to go they give it to you in a plain brown paper bag and by the time you get home the bag is cover in grease, so you know its gonna be good, oh yeah baby. But my favorite thing from there is there Root Beer. It is so TASTY, and if you dine in there they serve it in Frosted Mugs, D-lish. I can't go home without, having Root Beer from frostop, a sno cone from summer snow(ice cream with cream flavor), and mexican food.

Ryan The Protective Big Brother

Ryan has really surprised me lately. He has been so sweet and loving with Matthew. He always wants to help feed Matthew. Whenever Matthew spits up Ryan is so quick to grab a burp cloth and wipe it up. Now remember we are talking about Ryan 2year old. Anytime we our around a big group especially kids he is very protective of Matthew. He doesn't want a bunch of people messing with his little brother. But just this week he did something that touched my heart so and made me SO PROUD of him. Matthew had his 6 month checkup which means shots. Poor Matthew had to get 3 shots, 1 oral vaccine, and blood draw. So Matthew wasn't a happy camper. So while the nurse was giving Matthew his shots Matthew started crying and Ryan walked over to Matthew patted his head, gave him a kiss and said its OK Matt. Even the nurse was touched. Now don't get me wrong if Matthew even looks at one of Ryan's toys Ryan screams NO Matt its MINE, but nevertheless I am so proud of Ryan, such a good big brother.

Matthew weighed 19.2 lbs 75% and was 26in 25%, so he is still our little fat budda baby.

Well today Chad was on call, so after the boys naps I was thinking about taking the boys to the beach for a little while. By the time I got everything ready, it was getting close to dinner time. So I came up with a plan. I would load the boys up in the stroller, walk to New York Pizzeria, have a nice dinner with my boys then head across the street to the beach for a little fun before bath and bedtime. So off we went to New York Pizzeria. Ryno had a huge slice of cheese pizza and I had a nice grilled chicken salad. Now outside of New York Pizzeria there is a nice water fountain with tables for outside dining. The whole time we were eating (inside) Ryan kept talking about the water fountain. So after Ryan and I finished dinner, I decided I would feed Matthew outside so we could enjoy the breeze and nice water fountain before heading to the beach. So just as I'm sitting down to start feeding Matthew I hear a big splash and look over at the water fountain and big surprise Ryan is swimming in it. So I fed Matthew while Ryan enjoyed a little dip in the local water hole. It was all fun and laughs until Ryan wanted to step it up a notch and decide he wanted to enjoy the fountain with no clothes on. Well that's where I drew the line and that's where Ryan melted down. He managed to get his shirt off and was working on his pants, when I decided this lovely evening was fading fast. So we wrapped up our dinner and headed home. No need to head to the beach after all that excitemetn. Ryan was not happy about it. Poor Ryan he has such mean parents. Enjoy the pictures below!!

What's That Smell?

Lately I haven't been feeling very well. I am having some really bad headaches, not sleeping well blah blah blah. But once you become a parent you just can't lay around when you feel bad. Everyday, I try and do something fun with my kids and since its summer it usually involves water and Texas Heat which doesn't really help my headaches. I'm not sure why but its important to me for my kids to be outside and active. I know Ryan is a much better kid when he gets to run and play outside. Something about being inside for too long makes Ryan crazy and annoying to his Mom and Dad. It is exhausting keeping up with Ryan's social life. Ryan has been spending alot of time with his best buddy Jackson. And this was a busy weekend for us. Friday we went to the yacht club pool which is a standing playdate we have all summer. Saturday morning we had a Resitern Kids Party at Jump n Jungle. Saturday evening we had a party at the Yacht Club which involved swimming. Sunday we went to church and Sunday evening he hung out with his buddy Jackson. Saturday evening after the yacht club party we hung out with some friends, celebrating Justin's Birthday. Sunday evening while Ryan was playing with Jackson Chad, Matthew and I went to an Anesthesiology party.

Matthew is so close to crawling. His chubby legs are always moving. He's not crawling yet but he still manages to get where he wants to go. Matthew will be 6 months on Thursday. I just want to cry as I'm writing this. Time really does go by fast.

Ryan and Mr Monkles got a package this week from Honey and Pop Pop. They sent Ryan the cutest Cars and Spiderman underwear. I want to cry as I write this too. Ryan is getting to be such a big boy. Before long he won't be wearing diapers anymore. I am happy about that too but its bittersweet.

We are in the early stages of potty training Ryan. When we are at home Ryan goes without a diaper(much to his delight). That way he is more aware of having to go potty. So we have had several successes but many oops. One day this week he went outside and went pee pee in the yard and then came in and asked for a treat. When we take coco outside to potty coco gets a treat. So Ryan thought he should get one too. Then there was the time we were in the garage and he went pee pee in the garage with a big grin on his face. Then there was the time that he went poo poo right on the floor(after he went poo poo digusting). But the one that takes the cake is just this afternoon he was sitting on my lap and he pooted but I kept smelling something so I had him get off my lap and right there on my shorts was a screech mark yes Ryan sharted on me. NICE! :(

Well, Where to start, where to start! I've been so anxious to blog, but unfortunately haven't had the time. So this might be long :) So lets back up to the 4th of July. Honey and Pop Pop made a visit down to Galveston. They spent a couple of days here and then took the boys back to Longview with them to spend the week. It was really hard to let them go REALLY HARD!! Chad and I were long overdue for some downtime but it kinda felt like I was missing one of my arms all week. We both got to catch up on some rest and relax a little. On Thursday July 10th Chad and I both had the day off. We slept in, went to eat lunch at Salsa's, and then headed to Slitterbahn Waterpark. We had a blast at the waterpark. We have never done anything like that together, we acted like two kids. Its was so fun and relaxing, but the whole time we were there we kept saying how much Ryan would love it. So back to the kiddos week of being spoiled at Honey and Pop Pop's. Here is a day in the HARD LIFE of Matthew and Ryan. Wake up Matthew has his bottle that wears him out so he needs a catnap after breakfast. Ryan has breakfast then its outside to play with the kittens. Ryan gets way too hot, so Honey says its time to cool off in the pool. After a refreshing dip in the pool, its lunch time. After lunch its afternoon nap time. After nap Pop Pop comes home and its time to hit the pool AGAIN. Then we are starving so its Dinner time where we scarf down 2 plates of Spaghetti. Then bath and bed. Oh and if you wondering if I forget about Matthew, I didn't. His honey held him pretty much the whole time he was awake. So it was bottle, nap, & being spoiled by Honey. These boys have a hard life. And one more important tidbit. On Tuesday evening July8th I get a phone call from Honey, she was calling to inform me that Ryan was now jumping off the diving board. Thanks Honey, that just spells trouble for me, there will be no stopping him now. I have to say, I kinda felt like the boys probably didn't want to come home WOULD YOU? I mean we go to the pool once a week. They go to Honey and Pop Pop's where there is a pool in the backyard and get to go swimming 2x a day.

I am so glad the boys got to spend some time with there grandparents. And I was so happy to have them back home. So the weekend they came back home, I took Ryan to the pool, and sure enough he headed right for the diving board and off he went. The next day Chad came with me and got to see it for his self. We caught it on video, so everyone can see. So we have been going to the pool quite a bit and Mister Ryan is becoming quite the olympic swimmer. We have also been going to the little waterpark called Palm Beach where Ryan goes down the waterslides all by himself, he won't even let me go with him.

We are so lucky to live in Galveston with so much to do right here. We have a pool within walking distance, the beach within walking distance, and two waterparks down the road, and so much more. God knew what he was doing when he brought us to Galveston.

So today July20th Ryan went poo poo in the potty like a big boy. He has pretty consistently been going tee tee, but never poo poo. I was on the phone with my momma and I was feeding Matthew. Ryan is walking around the house in his birthday suit( I told ya'll I can't keep clothes on this boy) he comes to me and says POO POO, I say do you need to go POO POO? He says NO! I say do you want me to put a diaper on you? He says NO! He says POO POO Potty! So I walk in the bathroom and Ryan walks over to his potty and lifts the lid and SURPRISE!!!! He went poo poo while I was yakking to my momma. So being the momma I am I took several pictures of the PRIZE don't worry I want share that photo with you all. So after that we went to target to get some things and I told Ryan he could pick out a prize for going POO POO in the potty. So my son picks out Summer Beach Barbie as his prize. And he slept with her during naptime. We took her to the beach with us this afternoon. We took a bath with her this evening. And we went nite nite with her. Oh how proud Chad must be :)

Ryan's Very First Movie KUNG FU PANDA!

On Friday June 27th 2008 I took Ryan to see his very first movie Kung Fu Panda. Jackson(Ryan's best buddy), Annie, Dady, and there mommas joined us. We went to the 11am matinee so we had the theater to ourselves. Before the movie we stopped by the concession stand because you can't see a movie without POPCORN! We also had to get an Icee and M&M's. Ryan was beside himself. He didn't know what to think, he was in AWE. He wouldn't even sit down to watch the movie, he just stood there watching with his mouth wide open for about 45 min he had the biggest grin on his face and he was so excited his buddies were there with him. It was such a good time. He started crying when the movie was over.

2008 Resident Dinner Party

It was so neat to see everyone dressed up. We had such a good time and we got to stay out late and spend some time with our friends. My mom was in town and she was watching the boys.

Welcome To Our Family!

Hey Ya'll, welcome to the Hendricks family blog. I was inspired by my sweet friend Julie to create a family blog to share with our family and friends. Can I just start by saying Chad and I are so blessed. The Lord has blessed us with two beautiful boys, 3 if you count our first born COCO. Ryan is 2 almost 2 and a half, and Matthew is 4 months old. They are a handful but they are truly a joy. And there is never a dull moment in our house. A big reason for me to do this blog is kids are ever changing and they do something new everyday and I don't want ya'll to miss out on the fun. Ryan is a character and he is soooo funny. And Matthew is the sweetest baby. He is so laid back and easy going, the polar opposite of Ryan. There are so many precious things they do, and I don't ever want to forget them.

I never want to forget Matthew laugh, its the sweetest sound I've ever heard. I never want to forget that Ryan calls Pizza FYEFYE and he calls MILK MILCH. Ryan never says YES to anything he says OHHHH KKKKKK. These are just a few, but I don't want to forget so I'm gonna blog about them.

Let's talk about Ryan's crib, its his little nest. And every night or little bird goes on a hunt to take the perfect treasure with him to bed. The bed is overrun with junk. He can't go to bed without my cutting boards and my muffin tin. What can I say the boy takes after his momma. We love kitchen gadgets :)

This next video ya'll just have to indulge me. Last week my friend Brie invite all the kiddos over for a splash day at her house. She had sprinklers set up and she had several storage buckets fill with water with all kinds of toys in them for the kids to play with. The kids had so much fun with the storage buckets. They all started jumping in them and swimming around in them it was soooo cute. So all the moms loved the storage bucket idea. I bought a couple for Ryan to play with at home. So on Friday we tried them out. But Ryan decided that his clothes were getting in the way of getting the full experience. Also Ryan thought it would be a good idea to Cannonball into the small storage bucket. Enjoy the video below!!!

My Momma is coming next week!!! I am so excited I feel like my heart is gonna leap out of my chest. I love my momma!!! Ryan calls my momma YaYa, and its a name he totally came up with on his on. And I have to say this boy asks for her EVERYDAY. It makes my heart so happy for my son to love my momma as much as I do. Whenever she is here we both fight over her attention, of course he always wins. WE LOVE YOU YAYA!

On Saturday May 31st we had a fun and busy day. We had the Anesthesiology Crawfish Boil during the afternoon and the Resitern Bon Voyage party that night. We took the boys to the Crawfish Boil. Chad and Ryan spent most of the time in the water (Big Surprise There). The party was at the Galveston Racquet Club, they have a really nice pool and two really cool water slides. Chad and Ryan went down the slide together the first time. The second time Ryan went at it alone (Big Surprise Again). Matthew was his usual Chick Magnet and we had fun people watching. It was fun hanging out with Chad's co-workers and Friends. That evening Cassidy came and watched the boys so we could have Date Night. The Resiterns Bon Voyage party was held at Saltwater Grill. The food was AMAZING! Chad said it was the best meal he had eaten since living in Galveston. We had such a good time with our friends. Some which are leaving us and will definitely be missed.
